Myotherapy 7-Step Massage was originally the ‘flagship’ program of this institute. This technique is based on the deeply therapeutic work developed and documented by KC Miller, Founder and Director of SWIHA.
SWIHA’s comprehensive 200-hour Myotherapy program may be taken to fulfill part of your primary specialty requirements within some of our degree or diploma programs, to enhance your professional status, or to further your own personal growth and development.
In this program, you will learn the advanced techniques of Myotherapy along with therapeutic massage. Students learn a system or framework from which to create release and rehabilitation for the physical and emotional body. This is done by learning to move the skeletal structure in a way that releases trapped muscles and many times, trapped emotions as well. In addition, you will learn energetic acupressure, reflexology, and postural analysis. Graduates earn a Certificate of Excellence showing completion of 200 hours of specialization in the field of Myotherapy.
Mastering the skills of Myotherapy as taught at SWIHA gives you boundless opportunities for success as a massage therapist seeking gainful employment, or as an entrepreneur establishing your own private practice with repeat clientele.
* NOTE: Certificates of Excellence are not necessarily designed to serve as stand-alone vocational training and may not prepare you for gainful employment if taken independently of a diploma or degree program.
Students enrolled in the Myotherapy Certificate of Excellence program will study a wide variety of introductory and through advanced therapeutic and rehabilitative practices including trigger points, sports massage, postural analysis, Swedish Sedona massage, lymphatic massage, aromatherapy, energetic acupressure, ‘thumbless therapy’ and more.
