Blending the highest intentions of Eastern and Western philosophy and practice, Southwest Institute of Healing Art's Yoga Teacher Training/Yoga Therapist Program guides students through a deep exploration of the roots, practice, and development of Yoga as a personal path to self-realization.
Our Yoga Teacher Training draws its elements from a variety of long established Yoga traditions. SWIHA also invites nationally and internationally-respected Yoga teacher trainers and Yoga-related teachers as guest presenters of our program. Our students have the opportunity to receive and experience the wealth of talent available both within and beyond our local SWIHA community.
We welcome both the experienced and the novice. It is SWIHA's intention to hold the space for all who are passionate about Yoga and committed to learning what it means to be a Yoga teacher both on and off the yoga mat. Facilitators of the program help to guide students in developing their own personal practice alongside what is presented during the teacher training program.

Program Curriculum
The 800-hour Yoga Teacher Training/Yoga Therapist Diploma Program includes over 400 hours of advanced and transformational yoga training. An additional 200 hours will allow students the opportunity to choose 1 or 2 areas of therapeutic specialization: Aromatherapy, Hypnotherapy, Reiki, Life Coaching, Holistic Nutrition, Polarity and more. Students will also select 100 hours of electives and may choose to study Yoga Nidra, Aroma Yoga, Aruyveda, Yoga – Phoenix Rising, Thai Massage, Reflexology and many more. Lastly, 100 hours of will be devoted to students becoming well versed in both safety and business development through First Aid/CPR Certification and entrepreneurial courses, respectively.

All students who remain enrolled in the Yoga Teacher Training program receive a complimentary 6-month unlimited pass to any of our weekly scheduled yoga classes at SWIHA Yoga Studio.

Need tuition assistance?
Since SWIHA is a nationally-accredited college approved by the US Department of Education, students enrolled in programs of 600 hours or more may qualify for Federal Student Aid in the form of Pell grants and student loans. In addition, we offer a 10% cash concession on tuition for programs paid in full at the time of enrollment.
